Apprentice visits Uganda

Amelix Telecom’s apprentice Warren Humphreys visited the slums of Kampala to visit a project Amelix Telecom was proud to sponsor. The Treasured Bakery is an initiative to feed over 300 of the poorest children in the world by building a bakery at Treasured Kids Primary school at a slum called  Kosovo on the outskirts of Uganda’s capital city Uganda.

Amelix Group CEO Louis Hurst who was also on the trip said ‘I am really pleased we have continued to develop our relationship with Treasured Kids School. we started working with the team here in 2013 when we committed to connect the school to broadband so they could interact with the outside world. I am delighted that our youngest member of the team has had a chance to experience something amazing during his apqprentiship and would like to congratulate Warren on all his fundraising’

Warren who is about to complete his apprenticeship offered through East Kent College said ‘At the start of my time at Amelix I never thought I would be given the opportunity to visit Africa and take part is such a worthwhile cause’
